Graffiti For Mental Wellness is a therapeutic practice I created to process abuse, depression, and trauma wherein I use objects, text, and collage to create large and elaborate altars that embody my psyche- a special blend of phantom-teenage angst and psycho-feminine hysterics. The majority of the materials used in these works are an accumulation of personal ephemera that include my parent's divorce documents, death certificates of loved ones, real estate deeds, family photographs and expired calendars. Through a process I call “ecstatic tagging” I connect with the concept the of the wounded inner child, healing it with transgressive self-expression.
